Are you a skilled interpreter with a passion for languages and international development? The African Union is hiring a professional English Interpreter to join its Interpretation Division in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
🔍 What You’ll Do:
- Provide simultaneous and consecutive interpretation during AU meetings and conferences.
- Assist in developing AU-specific terminology and lexicons.
- Translate official documents when needed.
- Support other interpretation-related tasks across the organization.
📚 What You’ll Need:
- Master’s degree in Interpretation, Conference Services, or Languages with 10+ years’ experience, or a Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years’ experience.
- At least 6 years at expert level and 3 years in a supervisory role.
- Fluency in English and at least one other AU official language is required.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpretation skills.

- Regular contract: 3 years (first year probation).
- Annual salary: $42,879 + Post Adjustment + Housing ($26,208) + Education Allowance (up to $10,000 per child).
